Landian Township is located on the eastern outskirts of Zhuanghe City, adjacent to the city proper. Situated at 39° north latitude, it enjoys a mild climate, ample sunshine, and distinct seasons.The township covers a total area of 82.8 square kilometers, with 35,000 mu of arable land, an 18.8-kilometer coastline, and 33,400 mu of coastal tidal flats. It is renowned for its abundant production of various shellfish, primarily variegated clams, and was once dubbed the “World’s Clam Treasury” by Hong Kong’s Ta Kung Pao. The township comprises seven administrative villages and one state-owned farm, with a population of 21,000.The coastal highway, Century Avenue, and National Highway 201 traverse Landian, and the Clam Island Campus of the University Town is situated within its borders. In 2021, Yuanhe Village was awarded the honorary title of “Most Beautiful Red Cultural Tourism Destination for Rural Revitalization.”
