Haining City’s Jianshan New District is situated on the northern shore of Hangzhou Bay, approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Haining City. With a total area of 42 square kilometers, it serves as Haining’s secondary urban center and is also an emerging development zone. In 2010, the district achieved a regional gross domestic product (GDP) of 1.8 billion yuan, representing a 45% increase; fiscal revenue reached 59.57 million yuan, marking a 35% growth. Efforts to attract investment have been vigorously advanced.Guided by the development philosophy of “building the district on ecology, revitalizing it through industry, and pursuing comprehensive development,” the district firmly adheres to the principles of “priority to industry, foreign investment, and high technology” and the “one-vote veto for projects that fail to meet environmental standards.” By fully leveraging its advantages in bridge connectivity, land resources, environmental quality, and late-mover advantages, and following the policy of “combining internal and external efforts while mobilizing all four types of capital,” the district is making every effort to advance investment promotion, focusing on four major emerging industries: automobiles and key components, machinery manufacturing, new energy, and new materials. To date, more than 80 enterprises—including the Haining Automotive New Energy Project, China North Industries Group Lingyun Industrial Park, Lianxin Plywood, Wanxiang Photovoltaic Industrial Park, Wankai New Materials, Sangle Solar, Wanbao New Energy, and Lincoln Elevator—have established operations here, with a total investment nearing 20 billion yuan.
