Located in Qiantang District, Hangzhou, the Hangzhou Pharmaceutical Port Town covers an area of 3.4 square kilometers. With the goal of establishing a leading domestic and world-class hub for innovation in the biopharmaceutical industry, the town focuses on four key sectors: biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, life sciences, and digital healthcare. It is committed to building an industrial ecosystem characterized by the “six-chain integration” of the ecological chain, innovation chain, talent chain, policy chain, financial chain, and service chain.
Planning and construction of the town began in 2015, and it was recognized as one of the first batch of Hangzhou Municipal Characteristic Towns. In 2017, it was approved for inclusion in the third batch of Zhejiang Provincial Characteristic Towns. In 2018, with Hangzhou Pharmaceutical Port Town serving as the core platform, the Hangzhou Municipal Government awarded it the title of “Hangzhou Pharmaceutical Port,” establishing it as the core zone for the development of Hangzhou’s biopharmaceutical industry. In 2020, it was named one of Hangzhou’s “Strongest Industrial Characteristic Towns”;In 2021, it passed the naming and acceptance inspection for Zhejiang Province’s fifth batch of provincial-level characteristic towns.
