The Tianjin Dagang Petrochemical Industrial Park is a specialized zone established on July 22, 2003, in accordance with the development plan for the Binhai New Area and with the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission. Its primary industrial sectors include petrochemicals, fine chemicals, new chemical materials, and biopharmaceuticals.The park has a total planned area of 55 square kilometers. The first phase, the Northern District (located in the triangular area west of Jinqi Road, south of South Ring Road, and north of the Duliu Alkaline River), covering 35 square kilometers, has been largely developed. The second phase, the Southern District (located in the southeastern part of Dagang District, extending west to Jinqi Highway, north to the Duliu Alkaline River, and east and south to Haifang Road), covers 20 square kilometers.
Since its establishment, the park has, after nearly a decade of development, taken initial shape as a specialized industrial zone supported by petrochemicals, fine chemicals, modern pharmaceuticals, and new chemical materials.
