The Shanghai Lingang Industrial Zone is located in the southeastern corner of Shanghai, at the confluence of the Yangtze River Estuary and Hangzhou Bay, with a planned area of nearly 247 square kilometers (including the bonded port area). With its uniquely advantageous location, it is one of the few regions in the world that integrates five modes of transportation: air, sea, rail, highway, and inland waterway.
The industrial zone focuses on automotive vehicles and components, key components for large vessels, and power generation and transmission equipment as its leading industries. Currently, it has essentially established five major manufacturing bases for equipment industries: automotive vehicles and components, large vessels, key components for power generation and transmission equipment, offshore engineering equipment, and aviation component support.
