The Wanling Science and Technology Innovation City project is a concrete manifestation of the Xuancheng Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Xuancheng Municipal People’s Government’s thorough implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It is an integral part of the vigorous implementation of the “Innovation-Driven City” strategy and was designated as the city’s “Project No. 1” for science and technology innovation at the Fifth Plenary Session of the Fourth Municipal Party Committee.
The initial phase of the Wanling Science and Technology Innovation City project is located in the southern part of Xuancheng’s urban area, within the city’s science and education sector and the National Xuancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone. The master plan comprises four major zones: a research and incubation base (the Xuancheng Base of the Science and Technology Innovation Alliance), a specialized economic park, a production and living support base, and a science and education park. The total planned land area is approximately 10,000 mu, with industrialization bases to be strategically distributed within the Municipal Economic and Technological Development Zone based on project requirements.The project aims to invest no less than 3 billion yuan within five years and no less than 10 billion yuan within ten years. The goal is to develop the Wanling Science and Technology Innovation City into a prominent hub for talent, innovation, and industry at the intersection of Anhui, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang provinces, and to establish it as a major growth engine for the city’s economic development.
