The Anning Industrial Park is a key provincial-level industrial park designated by the province to achieve an output value exceeding 100 billion yuan, as well as a national-level demonstration base for new industrialization (phosphorus and salt chemical industries). It is Yunnan’s only industrial park that integrates the three major industries of petroleum, steel, and phosphorus-salt chemicals. Leveraging the industrial foundation and geographical advantages of the rapidly growing economy in central Yunnan, the park has successfully attracted a number of projects worth over 10 billion yuan, including CNPC Yunnan’s 13-million-ton-per-year oil refining project,the Wuhan Iron and Steel Group’s 3.9 million-ton Caopu earthquake-resistant steel project, and the supporting petrochemical projects for Yuntianhua’s 10-million-ton-scale Yunnan refining base. These and other projects, each valued at over 10 billion yuan, have been successfully established. The park has formed an industrial layout centered on three pillar industries—petrochemicals, iron and steel smelting, and phosphorus and salt chemicals—with equipment manufacturing, new materials,new energy, and electronic information. It has been designated by the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government as one of the 12 industrial parks slated to achieve over 100 billion yuan in sales revenue and one of the 10 “National-Level Industrial Parks.” The park has become a vanguard in the implementation of Yunnan’s “Bridgehead” strategy and in the development and construction of industrial parks.
