Park Overview
Yangquan High-Tech Zone was formerly known as the Yangquan Economic and Technological Development Zone. It was established in February 1993, became a provincial-level economic and technological development zone in January 1996, and was renamed the “Yangquan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone” in July 2021.
At the time of its establishment, the zone covered an area of 10.56 square kilometers, with a planned area of 3.83 square kilometers. In April 2015, the zone incorporated six administrative villages, marking its first expansion, bringing the total area to 19.19 square kilometers. In June 2017, it integrated the Yangquan East District Industrial Park, the Baiquan Industrial Park in the Suburban District, and the Yinying Industrial Park in the Suburban District, achieving its second expansion, with a planned area of 80 square kilometers following the expansion.
In recent years, the High-Tech Zone has focused intently on the goal of establishing a national-level high-tech zone. With the comprehensive promotion of high-quality development as its central task, and in accordance with the Municipal Party Committee’s “14510” overall strategy and deployment, it has implemented the “Five Zones Co-construction” strategy—comprising the Emerging Industry Cluster Zone, the Innovation-Driven Leading Zone, the Frontier Zone for Open Cooperation, the Demonstration Zone for Industry-City Integration, and the Center for Factor Allocation. The zone strives to serve as the main battlefield, main stronghold, and main engine for the city’s comprehensive promotion of high-quality development. It has preliminarily established leading industries such as the digital economy, advanced equipment manufacturing, new materials, energy conservation and environmental protection, and modern services.
