Park Overview
A National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, established in 2002 with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal Government and upgraded to a National High-Tech Zone in 2011, is located in Wujing Town, Minhang District, Shanghai, adjacent to the Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, with a planned area of 13 square kilometers. The zone focuses on strategic emerging industries such as integrated circuits, new energy, avionics, digital content, and new materials. It is home to leading enterprises such as AVIC, Intel’s Asia-Pacific R&D Center, Microsoft’s Asia-Pacific R&D Group, and the Coca-Cola R&D Center. Leveraging the “campus-park-city” three-zone linkage mechanism, the park has fostered an ecosystem of deep integration between industry, academia, and research.By 2025, the park is projected to host over 420 high-tech enterprises, with an R&D intensity of 8.5% and cumulative patent grants exceeding 12,000. The park is approximately 3 kilometers from Wujing Station on Metro Line 8 and is connected to the city center via the Hongmei Elevated Road and the S4 Shanghai-Jinling Expressway. It offers policy incentives such as a 15% corporate income tax rate for high-tech enterprises, additional deductions for R&D expenses, and a fast-track residency process for talent.
