A national-level automotive industrial base, established in 2001 with approval from the National Development and Reform Commission, is located in Anting Town, Jiading District, with a planned area of 100 square kilometers. It focuses on developing industries such as vehicle manufacturing, automotive electronics, intelligent connectivity, new energy vehicles, and automotive finance. The base is home to leading enterprises including SAIC Volkswagen, NIO, Horizon Robotics, and the East China Branch of the China Automotive Technology & Research Center.The area is served by the G2 Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and Metro Lines 11 and 14. By 2025, annual automobile production is projected to reach 1.2 million units, with smart connected vehicle testing mileage exceeding 5 million kilometers. The park is a National Pilot Demonstration Zone for Smart Connected Vehicles and features supporting facilities such as Anting Talent Apartments, a Grade A tertiary hospital, and international schools.
