Established in July 1992, the Xintai Economic Development Zone is a provincial-level high-tech industrial development zone and a provincial-level economic development zone. It is one of Shandong Province’s first energy-saving and environmental protection industrial bases, the province’s first provincial-level ecological industrial park, a national production base for medium- and heavy-duty truck components, and a demonstration base for new materials in strategic emerging industries.The zone has established one national-level enterprise technology center, nine provincial-level engineering technology centers, ten provincial-level enterprise technology centers, five academician workstations, and two postdoctoral research stations. It is home to eight scholars under the “Thousand Talents Program” and six members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
