Established on August 21, 2009, Binzhou High-Tech Zone is a provincial-level high-tech industrial development zone approved by the provincial government. It has also been designated by the Binzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government as a “pioneering zone for innovation and reform in science and technology systems and mechanisms, a demonstration and leading zone for strategic emerging industries, a national-level cluster for science and technology enterprise incubation, and a green living and leisure zone in the Yellow River Delta.”Binzhou High-Tech Zone is located south of downtown Binzhou, separated from the city center by the Yellow River to the north. It borders Dongying to the east and Zibo to the west. The zone covers an area of 156.6 square kilometers, of which 83.6 square kilometers are designated as the urban planning area. It administers two sub-districts—Xiaoying and Qingtian—and 154 villages and residential communities, with a total population of 100,000.
