Park Overview
The Zouping Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in August 2001. In June 2003, it was approved by the People’s Government of Shandong Province as a provincial-level economic development zone. On November 11, 2010, it was officially approved by the State Council as a national-level economic and technological development zone, becoming the first such zone in Shandong Province to be located in a county-level city. Since its establishment, the zone has vigorously implemented the “Three Major Strategies” of building the zone through the environment, revitalizing it through industry, and strengthening it through science and technology. It has focused on the “Five Key Areas” of project construction, investment promotion, high-tech industries, infrastructure, and environmental optimization. It has grown into a comprehensive economic and technological development zone with home textiles and apparel, food and pharmaceuticals, new materials, and wind power equipment manufacturing as its leading industries, integrating warehousing, logistics, R&D, and commerce. The zone has formed three major industrial clusters: the home textiles and apparel industry (centered on cotton yarn, cotton fabric, apparel, and home textiles); the new materials industry (focused on aluminum sheets, strips, foils, and aluminum alloys); and the modern manufacturing industry (centered on wind power machinery and equipment). It is also gradually expanding into high-tech industries. The zone has played a significant role in driving and radiating economic development across Zouping County, becoming the county’s largest development platform and a key window for opening up to the outside world.
