Weifang High-Tech Zone is one of the 54 national-level high-tech zones established in 1992 with the approval of the State Council. It is also designated as a national-level entrepreneurship service center and serves as the political, economic, and cultural hub of Weifang City, housing the municipal Party committee and government. The administrative area spans 116 square kilometers and has a population of 145,000. The terrain is flat, with the Jinan-Qingdao and Weifang-Laizhou expressways crisscrossing the region and the Jiaozhou-Jinan Railway running through it, ensuring convenient transportation.The zone features fresh air, a beautiful environment, and strong land resilience, with no sources of pollution. It boasts well-developed infrastructure and comprehensive living and recreational facilities. The urban greening coverage rate reaches 42%, with per capita green space amounting to 27 square meters. In 2001, the zone successfully obtained ISO 14001 environmental management system certification.
