Established in 2000, the Jining Jining Economic Development Zone was designated as a provincial-level economic development zone in 2006 with the approval of the Shandong Provincial People’s Government. It is located in Jining County, Jining City. With a planned area of approximately 38.6 square kilometers, it has developed a “One Zone, Three Parks” structure (Food Industry Park, New Materials Industry Park, and Commerce and Logistics Park).The development zone serves as the core industrial hub of Jining County—known as the “Garlic Capital of China”—and is also a major food processing and chemical industry base in southwestern Shandong. It has been successively designated as a “National Agricultural Industrialization Demonstration Base” and a “Shandong Provincial New Industrialization Demonstration Base.”
