The Rizhao Beibei Economic Development Zone is located in Chahe Town on the southern coast of the Shandong Peninsula. It was established in April 2003. In March 2006, it was approved by the Shandong Provincial Government as a provincial-level industrial park and officially named the Shandong Wulian Industrial Park. In October 2009, it was renamed the Rizhao Beibei Economic Development Zone.The development zone has a total planned area of 80 square kilometers [2], with an initial development area of 20 square kilometers. It is positioned as the “Northern Rizhao Manufacturing Base.” Rooted in Rizhao and supported by Qingdao, the park focuses on attracting domestic and international investment. It has become an economic development platform and “bridgehead” that organically connects the two major economic regions of Rizhao and Qingdao, emerging as a new hub for port-related industries and a modern coastal industrial park on the Shandong Peninsula.
