The Rizhao City North Economic Development Zone is located in Chaohe Town on the southern coast of the Shandong Peninsula. It was established in April 2003. In March 2006, it was approved by the Shandong Provincial Government as a provincial-level industrial park and officially named the Shandong Wulian Industrial Park.In October 2009, it was renamed the Rizhao North Economic Development Zone. The zone has a total planned area of 80 square kilometers, with an initial development area of 20 square kilometers, and is positioned as the “Rizhao North Industrial Processing Base.”Rooted in Rizhao and supported by Qingdao, the park focuses on attracting domestic and international investment. It has become an economic development platform and “bridgehead” for the organic integration of the two major economic regions of Rizhao and Qingdao, emerging as a new hub for port-related industries and an emerging modern coastal industrial park on the Shandong Peninsula.
