Park Overview
The Ya'an Economic and Technological Development Zone is located in the eastern part of Ya'an's central urban area and was established in 2002. In June 2021, following approval by the State Council, the Ya'an Economic and Technological Development Zone was upgraded to a national-level economic and technological development zone. It has a planned area of 30.28 square kilometers and is home to a total of 526 enterprises (including 70 enterprises above designated size and above the reporting threshold), of which 109 are industrial enterprises and 417 are service sector enterprises. The Ya’an Economic and Technological Development Zone is managed according to a county-level model and administers Yongxing Subdistrict, which comprises 2 communities and 9 villages.
The Development Zone features a cluster of distinctive and competitive industries. It leads the way in green computing power; the China Ya’an Big Data Industrial Park is the nation’s first “carbon-neutral” green data center, with a capacity of 40,000 server racks, 3,284 PFLOPS of intelligent computing power, and 4,288 PFLOPS of total computing power. Its computing power quality and efficiency evaluation ranks first in the province and eighth nationwide. It has been selected as a typical case of industrial parks promoting new industrialization by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and has received a series of honors, including the National New Industrialization Industrial Demonstration Base. The lithium battery new materials industry is extending and strengthening its industrial chain. The zone has successfully established a provincial-level chemical industrial park, developing production capacity for battery-grade lithium hydroxide and lithium iron phosphate materials. Projects such as comprehensive utilization of lithium batteries have been implemented, and the zone has been selected as a "Lithium Battery Foreign Trade Demonstration Platform" by the Ministry of Commerce and recognized as a "Provincial-Level Foreign Trade Transformation and Upgrading Base."The equipment manufacturing industry is accelerating its transformation and upgrading. It has established the country’s largest production base for micro-vehicle rear drive axles and Asia’s largest production base for spiral bevel gears. It possesses the capacity to produce certain components for new energy vehicles, complete new energy buses, and is isostatic pressing equipment at the international advanced level. The Sichuan-Tibet logistics industry is being actively cultivated. Plans are underway to construct the Sichuan-Tibet Logistics (Commerce) Industrial Park, with key projects such as the Sichuan-Tibet Oil and Gas Emergency Strategic Reserve Center and the Multimodal Transport Distribution Center being implemented in a concentrated manner. Efforts are focused on meeting the construction needs of major engineering projects in Tibet and Tibetan-inhabited prefectures and counties, developing industries such as clean energy and the manufacturing of equipment suitable for high-altitude and cold-weather conditions. The goal is to establish a freight hub for the Sichuan-Tibet Railway and a cargo consolidation base for the Asia-Milan-Europe Ya’an route.
