The Mianyang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone is a national high-tech industrial development zone established in 1992 with the approval of the State Council. Located in the western part of Mianyang City, it encompasses Yongxing Town and the Puming Subdistrict Office, covering a total area of 105 square kilometers. It is situated just 96 kilometers from Chengdu and 8 kilometers from Mianyang Airport, with a permanent population of 300,000.
Adhering to the principle of “developing high-tech and achieving industrialization,” the Mianyang High-Tech Zone is committed to promoting modern industry centered on high-tech and strategic emerging industries, as well as modern service industries led by e-commerce and “Internet Plus.”Currently, the zone is fully committed to developing three major pillar industries: electronic information (represented by Sichuan Changhong, Sichuan Jiuzhou, and Emerson); automotive and auto parts (represented by Brilliance Auto, Sinotruk, Wild Horse Automobile, and Xinchen Power); and new materials (represented by Kingfa Science & Technology and the Ninth Institute of Electronics). E-commerce enterprises, exemplified by Changhong Smart Home, are continuously clustering within the park.In 2015, the district achieved a regional gross domestic product (GDP) of 25.65 billion yuan, a total industrial output value of 107.35 billion yuan, and fixed-asset investment of 9.797 billion yuan.
