Park Overview
Taiyangshan Resettlement Development Zone Established in 2004, the Taiyangshan Resettlement Development Zone in Wuzhong City is an integral part of the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base. Located at the junction of Yanchi, Tongxin, and Hongsibao counties (districts) in Wuzhong City, the zone administers five administrative villages across these three counties (districts). It covers an area of 557 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 6,741.The development zone is rich in resources, with deposits of more than 20 types of mineral resources, including coal, dolomite, and limestone. Among these, coal reserves amount to approximately 1.944 billion tons, metallurgical dolomite reserves to 200 million tons, and limestone reserves to 4.9 billion tons. The Development Zone is also exceptionally rich in renewable resources such as wind and solar energy, making it an ideal location for investment in projects related to coal chemical industry, magnesium alloys, new building materials, wind power equipment manufacturing, and solar photovoltaic power generation and equipment manufacturing.
The development zone enjoys convenient transportation links, bordered to the west by National Highway G25 and to the east by National Highway G35, with additional major arterial roads including National Highways G211 and G307, as well as Provincial Highways 304 (Yanxing Road), 203 (Huiping Road), and 101.The road networks for the mining area, the industrial park, and the Taiyangshan urban area have largely taken shape; the Tai-Zhong-Yin Railway runs through the region, featuring passenger and freight terminals; and the planned Weizhou Mining Area Dedicated Railway will traverse the area from north to south, connecting with the Tai-Zhong-Yin National Railway.
The development zone has ample water resources, supported by the Hongsibao and Yanhuanding Yellow River water diversion projects. The first phase of the Haojiatai Reservoir—the Liujiagou Reservoir with a storage capacity of 20 million cubic meters—began operations in 2008; additionally, the planned Fangjiaquan and Shibanquan reservoirs will provide a strong guarantee for water supply to support industrial development in Taiyangshan.
