Development Zone Introduction
The Tongliao Economic and Technological Development Zone is an autonomous regional-level development zone established in 2001 with the approval of the Autonomous Regional Government. In 2019, it was further designated by the Autonomous Regional Government as an autonomous regional-level high-tech industrial development zone. Covering a total area of 420 square kilometers, it comprises a high-tech industrial park and a modern comprehensive logistics park. The zone administers Liahe Town and four subdistricts—Hexi, Dianchang, Xincheng, and Binhe—and includes 50 villages and 29 communities. It has a permanent population of 215,000 and more than 16,000 market entities, and exercises municipal-level economic and social management authority. [2]
The Tongliao Development Zone is located 800 kilometers from Beijing, 731 kilometers from Tianjin, 240 kilometers from Shenyang, and 280 kilometers from Changchun, forming an equilateral “golden triangle” 3-hour economic circle with Shenyang and Changchun. The Development Zone has established a three-zone model comprising a new industrial cluster zone, a modern logistics demonstration zone, and a pilot zone for industry-city integration.
