Established in December 2001, it is a provincial-level development zone approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Government.On October 17, 2006, at the inaugural “Yangtze River Delta Investment and Development Forum” and the first “Yangtze River Delta Most Investment-Worthy Development Zones” selection event held in Shanghai, the Peixian Economic Development Zone stood out among more than 200 national and provincial development zones participating in the selection and was named the provincial development zone with the greatest investment value and potential in the Yangtze River Delta region.The Development Zone Management Committee comprises “one office and seven bureaus,” including the General Office, Investment Promotion Bureau, Finance Bureau, Social Affairs Bureau, Planning and Construction Bureau, Administrative Law Enforcement Branch, Land and Resources Branch, and the Development Zone Police Station. The organizational structure has gradually become more robust, and its functions have been further refined.
