The Suining Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu Province began construction in April 2003. In April 2006, it was approved as a provincial-level economic development zone with an authorized area of 6 square kilometers; its current administrative jurisdiction covers 68.9 square kilometers.The zone administers one sub-district, Jincheng, which comprises 13 communities and has a population of 62,000. There are currently 426 enterprises of various types within the zone, including 104 enterprises above designated size, and more than ten listed companies have invested and established operations there.
After more than a decade of development, the Development Zone has established a “five vertical, four horizontal” road network, with full coverage of natural gas pipelines. Water, electricity, and heating infrastructure are fully equipped, and the capacity for sewage, hazardous waste, and solid waste treatment exceeds standards. An industrial development pattern has largely taken shape, dominated by smart home appliances, high-end textiles, leather goods, biopharmaceuticals, new energy and new materials industries, and advanced equipment manufacturing.
