Park Overview
The Laobagang Coastal New District (Jiaoxie Town) in Hai’an County is situated at the junction of Hai’an, Rudong, and Dongtai counties and cities. It is one of the eight key coastal districts and towns in Nantong, has been designated a “Famous Town of China” and one of the “Top 100 Famous Towns of Jiangsu Province,” and is renowned nationwide as the home of the only “Red Flag Militia Regiment.” It is celebrated as China’s “Hometown of Pufferfish,” “Hometown of Seaweed,”“Eel Capital,” and is also the birthplace of the nationally renowned Haian Huagu Drum. The district covers an area of 128 square kilometers and possesses 50,000 mu of rich marine tidal flat resources.
With the completion of the Coastal Expressway, the Coastal New Area—situated at the intersection of the coastal expressway and National Highway 328—has been seamlessly integrated into the “Shanghai 1.5-Hour Economic Circle,” becoming Shanghai’s “backyard.”In accordance with the New Area’s master plan, four major industrial parks—covering stone processing, marine biology, high-end furniture, and comprehensive industries—are being gradually established. The area features well-developed infrastructure, meeting the “Nine Utilities and One Leveling” standard, and has become a hub for industrial relocation from economically developed regions such as Shanghai, southern Jiangsu in the Yangtze River Delta, as well as Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, and other economically advanced domestic and international areas.
