The Nanjing Yuhua Economic Development Zone is located in the western part of Yuhuatai District, Nanjing. Covering an area of 28 square kilometers, it stretches from the Qinhuai New River in the north to Meishan in the south, and from the Ningwu Highway in the east to the Yangtze River in the west. It is separated from Hexi New City and the Olympic Sports Center by a river.The master-planned area covers 27.6 square kilometers and comprises four communities—Jinhua, Tianbao, Tianhou, and Xikou—as well as the Preparatory Office for the Jinhua New Town Community. The registered population is approximately 17,000, and the floating population is approximately 12,000.
The Yuhua Development Zone was established on October 16, 2000. In 2002, it was successively approved as a municipal-level and provincial-level industrial park. In 2006, the Yuhua Economic and Technological Development Zone applied for and was approved as a provincial-level economic and technological development zone, and was officially designated as the Nanjing Yuhua Economic Development Zone.
