The Huai'an Economic and Technological Development Zone is located at the eastern gateway to downtown Huai'an. It was officially established in 1992, designated as a provincial-level development zone in 1993, and upgraded to a national-level economic and technological development zone in 2010. It currently administers 4 subdistricts and 2 administrative offices, with an actual managed area of 122.99 square kilometers.The current registered population stands at 215,000, with a permanent resident population of 327,000.It currently boasts four “national-level” platforms: a National Comprehensive Bonded Zone, a National Overseas Students Entrepreneurship Park, a National University Science and Technology Park, and a National Software Enterprise Incubator. It is a well-known hub for Taiwanese investment north of the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province and one of the nation’s first “Green Ecological Parks.” It has successfully been designated as a National Ecological Industrial Demonstration Park, a National Demonstration Pilot Park for Circular Economy Transformation, and a National Green Industrial Park.
