Construction of the Sucheng Economic Development Zone began in April 2002. Based on its functional layout, the zone is divided into two sections: the South and West. In April 2006, it was officially approved by the provincial government as a provincial-level development zone. After years of development and construction, the zone has established an efficient management system, developed distinctive leading industries, and built a comprehensive supporting infrastructure.It has successively been designated as a Provincial Intellectual Property Demonstration Park, a Provincial Circular Economy Transformation Demonstration Pilot Park, a Provincial Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Demonstration Park, a Provincial Demonstration Zone for the Integration of Informatization and Industrialization, a Provincial Science and Technology Industrial Park, and a Provincial Ecological Park. In the comprehensive ranking of the province’s 118 economic development zones at the provincial level or above, it ranks 54th, having risen 10 places consecutively over the past five years.
