The Siyang Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu Province is positioned as the secondary urban center of Siyang County, a new urban district for the 21st century, and the Siyang Special Economic Zone. It has established six major green emerging industries: green textiles, green wood-based panels, green equipment, green lighting, green energy, and green food. Its industrial focus includes three leading sectors—textiles and apparel, wood processing, and electric lighting—and four emerging sectors—electronic technology, new energy, machinery manufacturing, and paper and packaging.
The zone is fully implementing a strategy of “large-scale investment promotion” and “attracting major investors,” striving to create an investment hub. It is comprehensively promoting the principle of “zone affairs handled by the zone” and establishing the “Four Zeros” service brand to vigorously drive industrial breakthroughs across the county.A host of well-known large enterprises and conglomerates, including Qianrengang Apparel, Shenhe Industrial, Aqilan Textiles, Zhongda Electronics, Wanxu Electronics, and Daphne, have flocked to the area. As of December 2012, a total of 569 enterprises had settled in the zone, with a total agreed investment of approximately 46 billion yuan and a workforce of over 80,000.The Siyang Economic Development Zone has been successively designated by the provincial government as a “Textile and Apparel Industry Cluster” and a “Specialized Industrial Park for High-Power Energy-Saving Lamps.” In 2009, it was also honored with the titles of “Best City for Zhejiang Business Investment (China)” and “China’s Best County for Investment.”
