The Danyang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Jiangsu Province is located directly south of downtown Danyang and has been a key high-tech park developed by the city in recent years. The development zone enjoys an advantageous location in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta, a world-class urban agglomeration. Its planned jurisdiction comprises “one zone and four parks,” covering a total area of 175.85 square kilometers.The zone features distinct industrial characteristics and has developed an industrial system dominated by new materials, advanced medical devices and biopharmaceuticals, high-end equipment manufacturing, and modern services.
Over the past three years, with the care and support of the municipal and county-level Party committees and governments of Zhenjiang and Danyang, the High-Tech Industrial Development Zone has prioritized the three key aspects of “comprehensive planning, substantial investment,extensive clustering,” and has gradually evolved into a high-tech industrial cluster, a science and technology R&D and innovation incubation zone, and a demonstration zone for integrated industrial-urban development in Danyang. In May 2016, it received approval from the provincial government and was successfully upgraded to the Danyang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone of Jiangsu Province, thereby qualifying for the current policies applicable to provincial-level high-tech industrial development zones.
