Zhenjiang High-Tech Zone was upgraded to a National High-Tech Zone in October 2014. It is one of the nine National High-Tech Zones serving as the foundation for the construction of the Southern Jiangsu National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, and also serves as the leading, demonstration, and radiating zone for the development of the Southern Jiangsu National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone in Zhenjiang, coordinating the “One Zone and Fourteen Parks” within the zone.Located west of Zhenjiang’s main urban area, Zhenjiang High-Tech Zone constitutes the “western wing” of Zhenjiang’s “One Core, Two Wings” urban development strategy. Facing opportunities presented by a series of strategic initiatives—including the “G312 Innovation Corridor,” the “Nanjing-Zhenjiang-Yangzhou Integration,” the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration, and the establishment of the National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone—Zhenjiang High-Tech Zone is poised to become the vanguard, core, and main hub for Zhenjiang’s westward expansion and integration with Nanjing.
