The Suzhou Wuzhong Economic and Technological Development Zone was one of the first provincial-level economic development zones approved by the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province in November 1993. In August 2002, it was certified by the China Quality Certification Center to meet the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standard; in June 2003, it obtained ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification; and in December 2012, it was officially upgraded to a national-level economic development zone. After fifteen years of development and construction, the Suzhou Wuzhong Economic Development Zone has evolved into a hub for advanced manufacturing in southern Suzhou and a modern industrial district.
