The Chongchuan Economic Development Zone serves as the core economic engine of Chongchuan District, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province. Located in the main urban area of Chongchuan District, Nantong, it has a total planned area of 38.05 square kilometers and is divided into eastern and southern zones. The eastern zone is situated in the eastern part of the main urban area, adjacent to the Sutong Bridge, and lies within approximately a one-hour economic circle of Shanghai; the southern zone is located along the rear edge of the Nantong Port, adjacent to the Langshan Scenic Area, and is only 3.4 kilometers from the city center.Established in 1993, the zone was approved as a provincial-level development zone in 1997 and was named the “Most Dynamic Investment Region in the Yangtze River Delta” in 2006. After years of development, it has become the core economic engine of Chongchuan District in Nantong’s main urban area. Centered on three leading industries—next-generation information technology, intelligent equipment, and new materials—the zone is fostering emerging industries such as digital software and information technology, smart vehicle connectivity, and the pharmaceutical business district to build a modern industrial system.
