Park Overview
The total area currently under provisional administration in the Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone is approximately 585 square kilometers. Of this, the land area covers approximately 292 square kilometers, including the administrative boundaries of Zhadong Village, Donggang Village, and Dongling Community in Dayu Town, Rudong County; the Rudong Dong'an Science and Technology Park (based on the original planned area);certain reclaimed areas within the Dong'an Sluice (such as the section south of the Ruta Canal); the entire territory of Sanyu Town in Tongzhou District; and the Tongzhou Coastal New Area. The marine area comprises approximately 293 square kilometers of tidal flats above the zero-meter line, primarily encompassing the Yaosha-Lengjiasha waters. The total area under long-term planning control is approximately 820 square kilometers.
The Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone enjoys a superior geographical location within the core area of the Yangtze River Delta, situated at the intersection of Jiangsu’s Yangtze River Economic Belt and Coastal Economic Belt. It serves as a central hub connecting the south and north in Nantong’s coastal frontier region. With the successive opening of the Sutong Bridge and Chongqi Bridge, the Demonstration Zone has fully integrated into Shanghai’s one-hour metropolitan and economic circles. It stands as a central hub connecting the south and north along China’s coastline and represents another vital gateway for the Yangtze River Delta to the world.
