Park Overview
Established in 1994, the Jiangning High-Tech Zone is located in the heart of Jiangning District. It is the area within the district with the highest population density, the most abundant innovation resources, and the best integration of industry and urban development. Covering a total area of 195 square kilometers, it has a resident population of approximately 500,000. The zone currently holds multiple national-level designations, including National Innovative Specialized Park, National Demonstration Base for Innovation Talent Development, National Torch Specialized Industrial Base for Biomedicine, and National Intellectual Property Pilot Zone.
The park has attracted more than 6,000 enterprises from over 20 countries and regions, including 25 Fortune Global 500 companies and 20 domestic and international listed companies, with over 60,000 market entities in total. It is accelerating the development of a modern industrial system guided by the principle of “prioritizing life sciences, strengthening high-end equipment, expanding the green automotive sector, accelerating emerging economies, and cultivating future industries.”The park boasts outstanding advantages in science, education, and innovation resources, with 12 universities—including China Pharmaceutical University and Nanjing Medical University—and nearly 200,000 faculty and students located within its jurisdiction. The park enjoys a uniquely advantageous transportation and geographical location, featuring the integration of the airport and railway hub. Nanjing Metro Line 1, the Ring Expressway, the Nanjing-Hangzhou Expressway, and the Nanjing-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway all traverse the area;Comprehensive supporting facilities are continuously improving, with a cluster of high-end complexes and cultural, sports, and leisure centers dotted throughout the area. High-quality educational resources, such as the Nanjing Foreign Language School Branch and the Nanjing Lixue Primary School Branch, are concentrated here. The Yifu Hospital, built to international JCI standards, and the Jiangning District Social Welfare Center are also situated within the park, forming a new urban center that is both livable and business-friendly, characterized by the harmonious coexistence of “people, industry, and city” and the balanced integration of “industry, commerce, and residential” functions.
Jiangning High-Tech Zone seamlessly integrates mountains, water, urban areas, and forests. It is the high-tech zone with the most optimal comprehensive environment in the southern part of Nanjing’s main urban area, and one of the few comprehensive development zones nationwide that combines industrial zones, a university town, and scenic areas.
