The Xinyi Economic Development Zone is located west of Xinyi City’s main urban area. It was approved for establishment in 1995, designated as a provincial-level development zone in 2006, and submitted to the State Council for approval as a national-level development zone in 2014.The park has a planned area of 85 square kilometers and a built-up area of 60 square kilometers. It has preliminarily formed a development pattern of “one zone, one park, and one belt”—comprising the Central Zone, the Fine Chemicals Industrial Park, and the New Daiyuan Canal Industrial Belt. It has become the main hub of Xinyi’s industrial economy, the primary engine for investment promotion, and the main window for opening up to the outside world. It has successively been awarded honorary titles such as National Intellectual Property Pilot Zone, Jiangsu Province Demonstration Zone for the Integration of Informatization and Industrialization, Jiangsu Province Regional Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base, and Jiangsu Province Advanced Manufacturing Base.
