Established in February 2012, the Taicang Biomedical Industrial Park is a high-tech industrial park created by the Taicang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government to vigorously develop strategic emerging industries, accelerate economic transformation and upgrading, and coordinate the city’s biomedical industry development.The park is located in Shaxi Town, Taicang City, just a 3-minute drive from the Shaxi exit of the G15 Yangtze River Expressway. It is 60 kilometers from Suzhou BioBAY and 65 kilometers from Shanghai Zhangjiang Pharmaceutical Valley. With a total planned area of 6 square kilometers, the park is divided into three clusters.The northern cluster covers an area of 2.7 square kilometers and is primarily dedicated to the innovative biopharmaceutical cluster; the central cluster covers 1.8 square kilometers and is primarily dedicated to the pharmaceutical contract services outsourcing cluster; the southern cluster covers 1.5 square kilometers and is primarily dedicated to the medical device cluster.
The Taicang Biomedical Industrial Park focuses on developing three major industries: biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, and pharmaceutical service outsourcing. It continuously enhances its diversified functions, including R&D incubation, pilot production, trade exhibitions, logistics and distribution, and living amenities, striving to build a comprehensive park that fosters the clustering, innovation, and leapfrog development of the biomedical industry.As of 2023, the park has attracted more than 380 biopharmaceutical enterprises, including several large-scale companies with strong innovation capabilities and significant growth potential, such as Zhaoyan New Drug, Cyagen, Xinlitai Pharmaceutical, Omni Pharmaceutical, Huayimei Biotechnology, and Bochuang Medical.
