Established in October 2019, the Qidong Life and Health Technology Park is a life and health technology park located adjacent to the Shanghai Zhangjiang Pharmaceutical Valley, just a 50-minute drive from Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
The park is dedicated to building a comprehensive hub that integrates R&D and innovation, industrial incubation, and smart manufacturing for the biopharmaceutical and high-end medical device sectors. Renowned life sciences and health enterprises and institutions, including Bayer Pharmaceuticals, WuXi AppTec, Ruiyi Pharma, Ailis, and the East China Industrial Research Institute of Life Sciences at Peking University, have already established operations in Qidong. The park aims to become a base for life science and technology innovation in the Yangtze River Delta, a cluster for the health industry, and a new riverside city that is both leisurely and livable.Since the beginning of this year, the park has fully leveraged the spillover effects of industries and resources from the Zhangjiang area, hosting numerous industrial promotion events. Through these frequent events, it has attracted more than 20 technology-driven life sciences and health projects, including the Qidong Base of the Shanghai Engineering Research Center for Interventional Medical Devices. These projects span fields such as medical equipment, high-value consumables, medical device CDMO platforms, drug development, diagnostic reagents, pharmaceutical formulation production, and genetic testing.
