The Yannan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Jiangsu Province is located in the southern part of downtown Yancheng. It serves as the city’s administrative, cultural, commercial, scientific, educational, and financial hub, as well as the core area for urban development.The Yannan High-Tech Zone is home to the Xifu River Science and Innovation Corridor, the Xinlongli Science and Innovation Cluster, the Big Data Industrial Park, Nanhai Future City, European-Style Flower Street, the Sports Creative Industrial Park, the "Flowery Years" Urban Garden, the Hanhuayuan Photography Base, the Golden Eagle Julong Lake Shopping Center, the Zhongnan City Shopping Center, and the Baolong City Plaza.The Haiyan Museum, Yanzhen Water Street, the Library, the Art Museum, the Science and Technology Museum, the Huai Opera Museum, the ancient town of Wuyou, and the China Begonia Garden are all situated here, making it the city’s most vibrant urban showcase.
The Yannan High-Tech Zone covers a planned area of 102 square kilometers, comprises five sub-districts, and has a registered population of 229,300. In May 2014, the Yannan High-Tech Zone formally signed an agreement in Yancheng with the China Urban Science Research Association under the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other departments to jointly advance the “Micro-City” pilot program and the construction of the “Smart Financial City.”In January 2017, the Yancheng Big Data Industrial Park was designated by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a “National High-Tech Industrialization Base for Manufacturing,” making it the only such base in the country’s big data sector. On September 5, 2019, the Xinhua Daily Yannan High-Tech Zone “Four Forces” Education and Practice Base was officially inaugurated.
