The Gaoyou Economic Development Zone is a provincial-level economic development zone established in November 1993 with the approval of the provincial government. After years of construction and development, it has grown to a significant scale. The zone covers a total area of 101 square kilometers, with a planned development area of 75 square kilometers. It houses a technology industrial park, an enterprise incubation park, a photovoltaic industrial park, and a battery industrial park, among others.The Gaoyou Economic Development Zone currently hosts over 500 enterprises and has preliminarily formed five major industrial clusters: textiles and apparel, pharmaceuticals and food, electronics and electrical equipment, machinery manufacturing, and solar photovoltaics.
The development zone enjoys convenient transportation links: it borders the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway to the east and the Grand Canal to the west; the Huaiyang-Zhenjiang Railway is set to pass through the zone; and it is only a 20-minute drive from Yangzhou-Taizhou Airport.
