The Development Zone comprises three industrial clusters: agricultural and sideline products processing, wind power, and electric metallurgy. It is currently home to 132 enterprises of various types, including 53 industrial enterprises. The zone has fostered a 210,000-kilowatt wind power sector led by Jieyuan and Datang, an 110,000-kilowatt hydropower sector spearheaded by Changma’s 18 cascade power stations, and a 250,000-ton agricultural product deep-processing sector anchored by 400 tons of hop extract,100,000 tons of beer malt, and 100,000 tons of Daye Grass Industry; a 250,000-ton deep-processing sector for agricultural products; a 600,000-ton mining and processing sector specializing in the beneficiation of iron, manganese, copper, lead, and zinc ores, as well as iron concentrate oxide pellets; and a construction materials sector featuring stone, pipes, panels, and fly ash blocks.Subsequently, the zone negotiated and attracted wind turbine tower manufacturing projects from Yinguang, Great Wall, and Fengdu, leading to the emergence of a wind power equipment manufacturing sector. Currently, the Yumen Economic Development Zone accounts for 38% of the city’s local industrial output, having become a hub for industrial development and high-tech innovation in Yumen’s new urban area, as well as a model zone for local industrial growth.
