The Guangdong Province (Zhaoqing) Large-Scale Industrial Cluster is one of seven large-scale industrial clusters approved by the provincial government.The Zhaoqing Cluster is located in the southeastern part of Zhaoqing City, bordering Foshan City to the east, adjacent to Zhaoqing’s central urban area to the west, and near the Pearl River Delta Hub (Guangzhou New) Airport to the south, with a total planned area of 992 square kilometers.
The “2+5” initial development zones designated for the first phase cover an area of approximately 137 square kilometers, comprising two municipally administered initial development zones—Dinghu Lianhua–Sihui Fuxi and Sihui Dasha—as well as five local initial development zones in Duanzhou District,Dinghu—Zhaoqing New District, Gaoyao District, Sihui City, and Zhaoqing High-Tech Zone. The area offers a total of approximately 130,000 mu of developable land, with the two municipally administered starting zones alone providing 30,000 mu of contiguous industrial land awaiting high-quality industrial projects.
Zhaoqing is focusing on large-scale industrial agglomeration zones to strategically develop “3+2” industrial clusters—including new energy vehicles and auto parts, electronic information, equipment manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals, and advanced materials. Among these, the municipally administered pilot zones are prioritizing the development of “1+1+2” industrial chains, specifically in smart connected new energy vehicles, next-generation electronic information, high-end equipment manufacturing, and advanced materials.Driven by Xpeng Motors and CATL, Zhaoqing has attracted numerous projects to strengthen and complement its new energy industry chain, including Helin Liyue Power Batteries, Andot Auto Seats, Putailai, and Jiyang Equipment. This has led to the initial formation of an industrial ecosystem covering complete vehicles as well as key components such as batteries, electric motors, and wiring.
