A national-level demonstration zone for industry-city integration, located in the eastern part of Chongqing’s Liangjiang New Area, serves as the main hub and core development zone for Chongqing’s initiative to build itself into a “hub for new energy, intelligent, and connected vehicles.” The zone covers a planned area of approximately 100 square kilometers, with targets for 2025 set at 200 billion yuan in industrial output value, 100 billion yuan in logistics revenue, and a permanent population of 300,000.

The zone’s leading industries are centered on three major bases: new energy intelligent connected vehicles, high-end equipment manufacturing, and multimodal logistics integrating water, rail, and road transport. With Changan Automobile and Seres as the core, the zone has attracted 12 vehicle manufacturers. By 2024, its vehicle production and sales are projected to account for nearly 70% of Chongqing’s total, making it the primary base for “Chongqing vehicles going global.” Concurrently, the zone is developing supporting industries for core components such as engines, electric drives, and electronic control systems to build the Liangjiang International Automobile City.

The district boasts an exceptionally advantageous location, situated at the intersection of the Yangtze River’s “golden waterway” and the China-Europe Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing route). It features a multi-dimensional transportation network including the Guoyuan Port National Logistics Hub, the Yuzui Railway Freight Station, the G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway, and the G65 Baoji-Maoming Expressway. It offers one-hour access to the entire Chongqing metropolitan area and four-hour connectivity to major cities within the Chengdu-Chongqing Metropolitan Economic Circle.

The industrial layout follows a "Three Cities, Three Parks" model: the three urban centers of Yuzui, Fusheng, and Guojiatuo develop in synergy with the Automobile Manufacturing Park, Equipment Industry Park, and Comprehensive Logistics Park. Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan, the park will deeply integrate into the "Belt and Road" initiative, with a focus on expanding the automotive market in SCO member states.

In terms of infrastructure, 38 smart factories have been established, including 5 national-level green factories, with over 2 million square meters of standardized industrial space. Supporting facilities include a vehicle testing center, a power battery recycling and utilization base, and a smart connected vehicle testing ground.

Supporting services include the Yufu Industrial Park Enterprise Service Center, 12,000 units of talent apartments, the Fusheng High-Speed Rail Station TOD complex, and a Grade III-A hospital (Liangjiang New Area People’s Hospital).
