The Anhui Jixi Economic Development Zone is located in the southwestern part of Jixi County. Development began in August 2005. In September 2006, the Anhui Provincial People’s Government approved its establishment as a provincial-level industrial park. In January 2014, with the consent of the Anhui Provincial People’s Government, it was renamed the Anhui Jixi Economic Development Zone (in preparation). In August 2018, with the consent of the Anhui Provincial People’s Government, it was officially renamed the Anhui Jixi Economic Development Zone. The zone has a planned area of 13.45 square kilometers.
As of the end of July 2023, the development zone had signed 22 new manufacturing projects worth over 100 million yuan this year, commenced construction on 15 industrial projects worth over 100 million yuan, brought 10 industrial projects worth over 100 million yuan into production, and added 7 new industrial enterprises above designated size; tax revenue reached 330 million yuan, an increase of 11.1% year-on-year;72 industrial enterprises above designated size achieved a total industrial output value of 4.19 billion yuan; industrial value-added reached 790 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%; and the zone’s fixed-asset investment totaled 765 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.86%.
