The Ningguo Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in December 2000 with the approval of the Anhui Provincial Government. In March 2013, it was upgraded to a national-level economic and technological development zone with the approval of the State Council. After years of development, it has formed a “one zone, three parks, and one expansion area” development pattern, with a medium- to long-term planning area of 55.2 square kilometers.As of the end of 2015, the zone had 1,741 registered enterprises, including 797 industrial enterprises, 214 industrial enterprises above designated size, 54 enterprises with annual revenue exceeding 100 million yuan, 65 high-tech enterprises, and 15 listed or publicly traded companies.The Development Zone has successively been awarded honorary titles such as “Top Ten Investment Environment Parks in Anhui Province,” “National Top 100 Scientific Development Demonstration Parks,” “Innovative Park of Anhui Province,” “Anhui Provincial Demonstration Base for New Industrialization,” and “Provincial Intellectual Property Demonstration and Cultivation Park.” It has passed ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification and ISO 14000 Environmental Management System certification. In September 2015, it was successfully selected as one of the first 14 Provincial Strategic Emerging Industry Cluster Development Bases in Anhui Province.
Since its establishment, the Development Zone has vigorously promoted the construction of infrastructure such as roads and bridges, landscaping and lighting, water and electricity utilities, and drainage and sewage systems. In the Nanshan Park, the road network comprising eight north-south and nine east-west corridors has been completed, with basic municipal facilities in place and nearly full coverage of landscaping achieved; in the Helì Park, infrastructure development is advancing comprehensively, and the main roads have been largely completed; in the Wangxi Park, construction is in full swing, with key projects moving in one after another. At the same time, the Development Zone has invested substantial financial resources to improve the supporting functions of the parks.
