The Shucheng Economic Development Zone is a provincial-level development zone established in 2006 with the approval of the provincial government. It is a National Agricultural Product Processing Entrepreneurship Base, an Anhui Provincial Demonstration Base for New Industrialization of Children’s Bicycles and Cribs, and one of Anhui Province’s 50 entrepreneurship bases and nine circular economy parks. Located in the northern part of the county seat, the Shucheng Economic Development Zone has a total planned area of 60 square kilometers.Preparation for the development began in 2002, and in February 2006, it was officially approved by the provincial government as a provincial-level development zone with an approved planning area of 2 square kilometers. In November 2012, the provincial government approved the expansion and upgrading of the development zone, increasing its area to 13 square kilometers. Currently, the developed area covers 10 square kilometers, encompassing seven villages and one community, with a permanent population of 38,000.
