A national-level high-tech industrial development zone, established in 2018 with the approval of the State Council, is located in Nanqiao District, Chuzhou City, with a planned area of 38 square kilometers. Its leading industries include smart home appliances, new materials, new energy, and high-end equipment manufacturing. It is designated as a "National Base for Home Appliance and Equipment Manufacturing" and is home to leading enterprises such as BSH and Konka.The Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and the Shanghai-Xi’an Expressway run through the area, and it is approximately a one-hour drive from Nanjing. Supporting facilities include the China-Singapore Suzhou-Chuzhou High-Tech Zone, the High-Tech Science and Innovation City, and talent apartments. The zone benefits from policies promoting coordinated development within the National-Level Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Nanjing Metropolitan Area.
