Park Overview
Construction of the Langxi Economic Development Zone began in 2005; in 2006, the provincial government approved its establishment as a provincial-level economic development zone; in February 2018, it was included in the *Catalog of Approved Economic Development Zones in China*;In July 2018, following approval by the Anhui Provincial Government, the Langxi Shizi Economic Development Zone (in preparation) was fully integrated into the Langxi Economic Development Zone, which was renamed the “Anhui Langxi Economic Development Zone” and additionally designated as the “Anhui Langxi Anhui-Jiangsu Industrial Cooperation Park”; in December 2019, the provincial government submitted a formal report to the State Council, which was forwarded to the Ministry of Commerce, making it one of the 18 national-level development zones in the province currently in the cultivation phase.
It has successively been honored as the “Yangtze River Delta Development Zone with the Highest Investment Value,” “Top 10 Development Zones in Anhui Province for Investment Environment,” “Top 100 Development Zones in China with the Greatest Development Potential,” “China’s Best Development Zone for Investment Service Environment,” and “Benchmark Park for High-Quality Industrial Development.” It boasts two provincial-level characteristic industrial clusters (bases) in textile materials and mechanical equipment and components. The East Zone Green Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park is the only industrial park project in the city selected for the “14th Five-Year Plan Implementation Scheme for the Integrated Development of the Yangtze River Delta.”
Langxi Economic Development Zone currently hosts over 621 industrial enterprises, including 381 above-scale industrial enterprises, 1 listed company, 73 national-level high-tech enterprises, 52 provincial “Specialized, Refined, Unique, and Innovative” enterprises, and 33 innovation platforms at the provincial level or above. Through years of development, the zone has gradually formed a “1+2+2” industrial system (with new energy as the leading industry, automotive parts and equipment manufacturing as the two dominant industries, and new materials and green food as the two specialty industries).It has been approved for two provincial-level specialty industrial clusters (bases)—mechanical equipment and components, and textile materials—as well as one provincial-level specialty industrial cluster for small and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing of special-purpose engineering equipment.
