1. Overview of the Development Zone

The Qinyuan Economic and Technological Development Zone is a provincial-level development zone approved by the provincial government in January 2019. It has a planned total area of 9.57 square kilometers, with an actual approved area of 7.40 square kilometers. Following the layout structure of “One Belt, One Core, Three Axes, and Three Zones,” the zone is vigorously developing three leading industries: modern coal chemical industry, energy conservation and environmental protection, and new materials.
2. Transportation and Location

The Development Zone is located in central Qinyuan County, at the junction of Guodao Town, Congziyu Township, and Chishiqiao Township, 35 kilometers from the county seat. National Highway G241 runs through the entire zone, the Lixia-Huoqin Expressway is under construction, and the Xinjiaokou-Anze Central-South Railway within the zone is currently undergoing project approval.

3. Industrial Foundation

Modern Coal Chemical Industry: Key enterprises include Shanxi Tongzhou Coal and Coke Group Co., Ltd. (producing synthetic ammonia, methanol, crude benzene, etc.) and Shanxi Xiangyuan New Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. (producing tar, LNG, etc.). The development focus is on building downstream industries around the five distinctive main lines of “benzene, oil, olefins, gas, and alcohol” to enhance the industrial chain.

New Materials Industry: Representative enterprises include Shanxi Chensheng New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. The industry’s focus is on clustering and developing new materials such as specialty carbon black, organosilicon, and silicon nitride.

Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Industry: Representative enterprises include Shanxi Qingyuan Environmental Management Co., Ltd. The industry’s focus is on developing enterprises utilizing green, circular, and low-carbon technologies, and introducing products such as coal gangue bricks, building insulation materials, and rock wool to achieve the circular utilization of production resources.
