The Linyi Economic Development Zone is a vital component of Linyi, boasting vast potential for expansion. It serves as the primary growth engine for Linyi’s future industrial economy, a project to which the Linyi County Party Committee and County Government have devoted significant resources. In 2002, it was designated a “National-Level Science and Technology Park for Private Enterprises” by the Ministry of Agriculture; in 2006, it was officially approved as a provincial-level development zone by the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government; and in 2009, a petrochemical industrial park was established with the approval of the Provincial Department of Commerce;In 2010, it was approved by the China High-Tech Enterprise Development Evaluation Center to establish a National Demonstration Base for Cultivating Enterprise Independent Innovation Capabilities, and in the same year, it was evaluated by the Provincial Department of Commerce and designated as a Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Development Park; in 2011, it was established as a Shandong Provincial Circular Economy Demonstration Park. The Development Zone comprises the Western Economic Development Zone, the Eastern High-Tech Zone, and the Northern Large-Scale Industrial Zone, with a total planned area of 58 square kilometers. It enjoys a superior location and convenient transportation.
