Yingkou is located in the northwestern part of the Liaodong Peninsula, on the northeastern shore of the Bohai Bay, at the mouth of the Liao River. It is 146 kilometers from Shenyang and 179 kilometers from Dalian. The city administers “two cities (counties) and four districts” (Dashiquan City, Gaizhou City, Bayuquan District, Zhanqian District, Xishi District, and Laobian District), with a total area of 5,402 square kilometers and a population of 2.46 million.In recent years, Yingkou has experienced robust development, ranking fourth in the province in terms of economic output and maintaining the top growth rate in the province for several consecutive years. In March 2017, the Chinese central government approved the establishment of the China (Liaoning) Pilot Free Trade Zone.On April 10, 2017, the Yingkou Area of the China (Liaoning) Pilot Free Trade Zone was officially established. The Yingkou Area is located in the western part of Yingkou’s main urban area, bounded by Desheng Road (Chenghu West Road) to the east, Xingang Street to the south, the seaside to the west, and Binhe Road to the north. Its implementation area covers 29.96 square kilometers. The area is developed and constructed based on the National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.
