Park Overview
The Changzhou National High-Tech Zone was one of the first national-level high-tech zones established in November 1992 with the approval of the State Council. In April 2002, Changzhou’s Xinbei District was established on the basis of the High-Tech Zone, implementing a management system of “two names, one leadership team.” It currently administers seven towns, three subdistricts, one provincial-level economic development zone, and one comprehensive bonded zone, covering an area of 508.91 square kilometers with a permanent population of 689,800.
Located north of Changzhou’s old city center, the High-Tech Zone borders the Yangtze River to the north and the Shanghai-Nanjing Railway to the south. It borders Jiangyin City to the east and Danyang City and Yangzhong City to the west, lying equidistant from Shanghai, Nanjing, and Hangzhou. The zone is home to the Class I national port of Changzhou, Changzhou Airport, and the Changzhou Station of the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway. The Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, Changzhou-Taizhou Expressway, S338, S122, S239,Xinzao River, Desheng River, and Xinmeng River all flow through the zone, forming a comprehensive, rapid, and convenient three-dimensional transportation network connecting water, land, and air routes. Over the past 27 years since its establishment, Changzhou High-Tech Zone has consistently upheld its historical mission of “developing high-tech industries and achieving industrialization.” It has focused on building a first-class domestic demonstration zone for independent innovation, a pioneering zone for integrated industry-city development, a leading zone for inclusive and mutually beneficial open cooperation, and a harmonious, happy, and livable zone that everyone aspires to.It has preliminarily established an industrial development framework supported by eight specialized parks: “New Chemical Materials, Power Equipment, General Aviation, Photovoltaic New Energy, Life Sciences and Health, Cultural and Creative Industries, Smart Science and Technology Innovation, and Modern Agriculture.”
